IC INFO;

CHARACTER NAME: Carmilla aka Elizabeth Bathory
CANON & HISTORY: Fate/Grand Order. History.
AGE: Ageless. Appears to be in her young 20s.
CANON POINT: Post Shimousa Singularity.
PERSONALITY:

Blood, blood, blood...! Immortal beauty, an eternal feast, unsightly age shall find me at the ends of time...

Ruthless, sadistic, and cunning: all these traits embody the legend of Carmilla. This manifestation of Elizabeth Bathory is rooted in the heinous murders committed throughout her lifetime, an evil without remorse. Carmilla plays the part excellently. The fear of growing old has driven her to commit despicable acts in order to cling to her youth. She's a monster obsessed with beauty, a creature who cares little for the victims sacrificed to attain perfection. Carmilla's power is rooted in her station and legend which she is highly aware of. Towards other characters, her attitude is aloof. She takes an almost aggressive stance to isolating herself from those she deems unlike her. Her master's attempts to befriend her are rebuffed coldly. Carmilla outright warns them that, if they touch her, she will kill them. She is someone devoured by her insatiable desire to escape the inevitable -- a noblewoman proud of her power, a vampire who's embraced her role as a serial killer.

But how unpleasant. Your torture is merely your occupation, you'd best not think me the same. If it weren't for your daringness, your atrociousness, I'd be treading all over you.

For Carmilla, she takes an uncanny glee with her work. Torture is beauty in her eyes, solely because it restores her beauty. When Hijikata Toshizou attempts to compliment her techniques, she brusquely brushes him off and asserts that he's not someone like her. Killing isn't her job -- it's a necessity for her and, at some point, it became a pleasurable past time she happily indulged in time and time again. Bloodshed is what she desires. She mentions to her master that her favorite thing in the world is "the blood of young girls" and is good friends with Wu Zetian, an infamous empress who hideously tortured and executed her enemies to secure her position.

Those who have a "normal" life are those that Carmilla shuns. Their world doesn't belong to her. Therefore, she has no interest in them. She views herself as a being entirely separate from typical humans and addresses them contempt. Her breeding as a noblewoman causes her to look down upon others, which is clear by her haughty manner of speech.

Nono, nonono! Seriously, what is this!? That unbecoming form, just how exactly did you mess with [Elizabeth's] saint graph to get to this point!?

Yet, despite her cool and collected exterior, Carmilla is far more emotional than she presents as. Seeing her younger self in over-the-top and ridiculous costumes earns bewildered comments of disgust and shock. She flips out over seeing Elizabeth wearing what's essentially a battle bikini and refuses to associate herself with anything she deems too ridiculous. Someone who's obsessed with beauty is, understandably, concerned with her image. Being associated with something so ridiculous is something she can't handle -- which may explain why she's so quick to distance herself from those who are more "normal" from her.

And, when the protagonist and Mashu are trapped in Carmilla's dream -- more specifically, in the prison castle where Carmilla had killed her victims -- they refuse to heed her veiled warnings to stay put. Flustered by this demonstration of reckless bravery, Carmilla tells them off, calling them fools for not heeding her words before sullenly resigning herself to their plan.

I hate myself, loathe myself, and as a matter of fact... I'm sure you'll get the same answer if you ask 'me'.

Deep down, Carmilla hasn't outgrown her core fear that was planted in her as a child: the fear of abandonment. As a young noblewoman, her only role was to be beautiful enough to attract a wealthy and powerful husband. Once she grew older -- once she was used up -- she would be tossed aside and forgotten. She can't stand to be isolated and alone. In her dream, the protagonist and Mashu see Carmilla breaking down and screaming how she must be spared from imprisonment, and that, if she were locked away, no one will come save her.

Her desire for blood, her killing spree, her taste for torture: all these were mechanisms created to protect her from the fact that she was, in the long run, a woman without true power. She's well aware that what she's done is "pure evil." She admits it herself that she's a twisted creature who died in despair. Though she denies she holds no guilt for what she's done, it's clear that she despises the path that she's chosen. As much as Carmilla indulges in her sick desires, she feels an inherent disgust for her actions.

As long as my fate has been determined, I have no hope of escaping this place. You see, for me to escape imprisonment would be a rejection of my life, my fate, my everything. However -- you are different. I must help you. Even if the chances are one in a thousand, I must help my Master. [...] What if... I had met someone like you as "Elizabeth?" What if... I had reached out to a beacon of light like you. Then I--

Ultimately, what Carmilla seeks is understanding and acceptance. Regardless of who it comes from, she wants to be "saved" from her position as a piece in noble politics. She wants to be free from the confines of time, to be granted a fairy tale ending whereupon she can remain forever young and regain her position as a respected noblewoman. Towards those who try to reach out to her, despite her self-declared ill-natured attitude, Carmilla can be unexpectedly kind and protective towards them. She cannot be saved. She understands that there's no other future for her -- but that does not stop her longing for a hero to come for her.

POWERS:
It should be noted that without a Master OR a good and constant magical supply, Carmilla's abilities will be limited.

1. Servant Physiology.
A Servant is a powerful familiar whose body is constructed of magical energy. This grants her several abilities:
✔ Carmilla is able to switch between a nigh undetectable spiritual form and a physical form.
✔ Carmilla can only be hurt by spirits. She cannot die unless her Saint Graph (think of it like a spiritual core) is damaged beyond repair. This allows her to withstand damage far beyond a normal human.
✔ Carmilla possesses abnormal strength and stamina beyond regular humans. According to Fate's ranking system, she'd be about 20x stronger than a normal human. She's also keenly attuned to magical energy.
There are, however, two major drawbacks:
✘ As a Servant, Carmilla is subject to her Master's Command Seals. These are magical inscriptions that appear on her Master's body, which allow them to make up to three commands she must absolutely follow.
✘ Carmilla requires an anchor that provides magical energy to stay in the physical world, such as a Master. The longer she goes without one, the weaker she will become and the faster she will disappear. This can be warded off by consuming human souls.
In Spellbind, Carmilla's powers will be determined by the resonance of the world she's on.

2. Torture Techniques.
Carmilla is fantastic at torturing human beings, thanks to her years of practice. She knows how to make people hurt and she knows how to use that experience in a fight.

3. Presence Concealment.
An ability that allows her to hide her presence. It works for spying to some extent, but it's easy to find her quickly.

4. Blood Bath.
Bathing in blood makes her skin silky smooth and moisturized! :) More specifically, if Carmilla bathes in blood she can recover her physical strength.

5. Noble Phantasm: Phantom Maiden.
A physical representation of her lore. A magical iron maiden designed to crush a single person. It can move according to Carmilla's will. Once the victim is killed, it can release the nourishing blood to restore its owner's health. It can be summoned and unsummoned at any time.

OTHER: N/A!

GAME INFO;

MAGIC ABILITY:
FEAR CONTROL
Carmilla will be capable of instilling or erasing fear in another person. With greater practice, she can cause someone to experience mind-numbing fear or to make it so they feel no fear at all. However, it's subject to the following limitations:
✘ The effects of her powers are extremely diluted on its own. Her presence will be enough to make someone vaguely uncomfortable, but not much else.
✘ To access its greater effects, Carmilla must drink the blood of her target. One drop is enough.
✘ This power can only be used on one person at a time. If she wants to switch targets, she must drink the blood of her new target.
✘ The effects last indefinitely, so long as she remains in close physical proximity to a person. This means she must be less than 4 feet away. If the distance is any wider, the effects will last for only 30 minutes.
PRICE: Her staff.
ACCLIMATION: 10! Carmilla is used to being summoned to unfamiliar places thanks to the Holy Grail War. That, and she doesn't have any particular living ties. She'll know what to do with herself.
